WOMEN'S FORUM SIERRA LEONE
SOLIDARITY FOR EMPOWERMENT,EQUALITY AND DEVELOPMENT
The Women's Forum Sierra Leone was established in February 1994, in response to the need for a Nationwide Network of Women's Non-Governmental organizations that would take collective decisions and action for the overall advancement of Women and Girls throughout the country.
Currently there are three hundred (300) organizations that are registered within the Forum at Regional, District and Chiefdom levels. We are partners in all national development having signed the Service Level Agreement with the Ministry of Gender and Children's Affairs into our board. We are also registered as an NGO with the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development and SLANGO
The Forum visualizes a Sierra Leone in which women in all parts of the country, irrespective of tribe, religion, culture, education or status are empowered to access available opportunities to develop their talents and qualities in a violent free and peaceful environment, where women and children’s rights are respected and protected.
AGENDA 2044: Towards Political, Economic and Social Empowerment of Women and Girls.
Our general objective is to promote a platform for building effective alliances among Women, by sharing information and ideas on current and emerging issues of common concern to women in Sierra Leone, taking collective action on issues affecting women and children.
